Travel is on modern eco-friendly, air conditioned coaches and buses
featuring reclining seats with foot and head rests, with some long
distance coach services having on board washroom/ toilet facility.
All regional and long distance bus services do stop regularly for

InterCity Coachlines
operates the Starlighter night bus services
between Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Taupo, Palmerston North and
Wellington connecting with
Cook Strait ferry services
between Wellington in the North Island and Picton in the
South Island. The Starlighter overnight services
features reclining seats with foot and head rests, individual
reading lights and air conditioning controls, on board
toilet/washroom facilities and makes two comfort and refreshment stops on route.
Some
InterCity
Coachlines day time bus and coach services in the
North and South Islands, connect with Cook Strait
ferry services
that operate between Wellington in the North and Picton in the South
Island.
With combined bus and train fares and travel
available, travel on the
TranzAlpine train between Christchurch and Greymouth,
with connecting bus services to and from Nelson, Murchison, Westport, Punakaki, Hokitika,
Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier.
Reservations can be made for
combined bus and
Cook Strait ferry travel from Paihia
(Bay of Islands), Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Palmerston
North or Wellington to Picton, Christchurch, Blenheim, Kaikoura or
Nelson.

International Airport on northbound
InterCity Coachlines bus and coach services from
Invercargill, Te Anau, Queenstown, Dunedin, Timaru, Oamaru, Ashburton
to Christchurch and
Great Sights scenic coach services from
Queenstown, Twizel, Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook, using the
FareFinder - select or type in the
'From' field the desitination you are travelling from and
in the 'To'
field - type or select 'Christchurch
Airport' as your drop off location.
For Christchurch airport pick ups and drop offs for InterCity coach services between
Christchurch, Lake Tekapo, Twizel, Wanaka and Queenstown - type or select
'Christchurch Antarctic Centre' in 'From'
and/or 'To' as your airport pick up or drop off location.
Reservations
can be also made for travel to or from Auckland International
Airport to most destinations outside the greater Auckland
urban region either from the airport's international or domestic
terminals.

Reservations for bus and coach travel within the greater Auckland
urban region can not be made, as these services are local commuter
